Those of you who currently hold a Skills Funding Agency (SFA) contract may be interested to note that the SFA has announced the introduction of the Innovation Code (the Code).
Six learning aims are available for use as part of the Code. Providers can use these learning aims where they are developing and delivering provision, in conjunction with local business and employers, that addresses current or future skills needs.
The Code can be applied for a period of up to 12 months and during that time providers will need to work with an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation so that the provision can be migrated onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Providers wishing to use the Code must be on the Agency’s Register of Training Organisations and the provision involved needs to be delivered within their existing allocation – there is no additional funding for using the Code. The normal learner eligibility and entitlement rules will apply.
The SFA has produced a Checklist to answer provider questions about the Code. The Checklist also contains details of the six learning aims available and related funding rates. Please also refer to the Confirmation of Funding section of the SFA’s website.
ATHE would be happy to work with centres who are planning such provision to ensure that it is developed for the QCF within the required timescales. If you would like to discuss how we can help you please contact info@atheuk.com
More information on “The Innovation Code” is available on the SFA website…….
